About Masjid Dawah
Nestled in the heart of the Westside of Chicago, Masjid Dawah stands as the largest and oldest Islamic community in the area. Our community is a tapestry of believers who adhere to the Qur’an and the traditions of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him), unified by our faith and commitment to promoting a proper understanding of Islam.
For over 30 years, Masjid Dawah has been a beacon of spiritual and community life. Our mission is to bring the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah to all residents of the Westside of Chicago, fostering mutual goodwill and dispelling misconceptions about Islam. We believe that through knowledge and understanding, we can build bridges within our diverse community.
Masjid Dawah is not just a place of worship; it is a vibrant community hub. As the only fully functioning masjid on the Westside, we proudly serve over 200 attendees for Jummah prayers, welcoming a diverse congregation that includes Black Americans, South Asians, Arabs, and others. Our unity in diversity is a testament to the inclusive spirit of Islam.
What sets Masjid Dawah apart is our unique connection to the neighborhood. We are the only masjid in the city that projects the Adhan—the call to prayer—five times a day, seven days a week, to the local neighborhood. This audible symbol of faith resonates through the streets, reminding everyone of the presence of a strong and dedicated Muslim community.
Our journey is one of dedication, growth, and unwavering faith. At Masjid Dawah, we continue to strive towards a future where understanding and respect for Islam flourish, enriching the lives of all who come through our doors and those who hear our call.
Join us at Masjid Dawah, where faith, community, and tradition come together on the Westside of Chicago.
